Trauma Management
What is it?
This three day course focuses on early trauma management, including pre-hospital care.
Objectives include:
• Demonstrated increase level of knowledge of the principles and concepts of trauma management
• Determination of management priorities of trauma situations
• Extended understanding of systematic approach to assessment of the trauma patient
• Demonstrated skills used in initial assessment and management
• Increased knowledge of disaster management in order to improve planning at the local community level, through the use of hypothetical disaster exercises

Who can apply?
This course is suited to rural doctors and Rural Pathway Trainees in South Australian wishing to update their skills and practical knowledge in the management of Trauma.
Is it registered with the RACGP or ACRRM?
The course is recognised by the RACGP QA & CPD and ACRRM PDP Programs (point allocation is not guaranteed and is subject to review by RACGP and ACRRM).
How Much?
The cost of the course is $1500(AUD) inclusive of GST and is subsidised through Rural Doctors Workforce Agency's CPD subsidy .
No subsidy is payable for loss of earnings, however, eligible doctors may be able to apply for the Medicare Grant through RACGP or ACRRM
